Emotional Intelligence is defined as the ability to perceive emotions to access and regenerate them so as to assist thought, understand emotions, and regulate emotions to promote intellectual and emotional growth (Mayer-Salovey, Four Branch Model of Emotional Intelligence).

Emotional intelligence (EQ) and Intelligence Quotient (IQ) are two different things!
Unlike IQ, emotional intelligence can be developed and improved. It is the understanding and management of personal feelings and the feelings of others. Those with high emotional intelligence know very well how they feel, what these feelings mean, and how feelings affect others. Much of research shows that emotional intelligence is key to success for organizations and individuals.
About 85% of the differences between “intelligent” people and the rest of the average people in senior management positions is due to emotional intelligence factors rather than mental or technical skills. Thereafter, we find no significant differences in the mental abilities of people reaching this level. The academic achievement required to reach these senior management levels in large organizations requires an IQ score of 110. Similarly, expert managers need the minimum technical expertise to carry out their work.

Emotional Intelligence and Success!
Although emotional intelligence is still a relatively new branch of psychology, its definition is found in many diverse theories and models. In 1995, Daniel Goleman, in his best-selling book "Emotional Intelligence", presented a model that includes four aspects of abilities, from which the four stages of emotional intelligence emerged in MMB®. Many models of emotional intelligence have emerged, whether academic or practical, and each model contains these four aspects in one form or another, regardless of the different linguistic formulas that these models follow.
